1. Vaccuming at Night in Victoria is a No No

It is an offence to make unreasonable noise with a vacuum cleaner after 10pm or before 7am on weekdays, and 9am on weekends. Police can pay you a visit and request you to stop making the noise for 72 hours. A breach of this can result in a fine of up to $18,655.20, with an extra fine up to $4,663.80 per day for continuing noise violations. 2. Must have a License to Clean Up Sea Bird or Bat Poo

In WA you can also get in trouble for cleaning seabird poo or bat droppings without a licence. You can be jailed for up to a year under Section 387, Criminal Code Act 1913 (WA).

3. No doing Business with Pirates in Victoria

4. Possession of 50kg or more Potatoes is Prohibited

In Western Australia, it is illegal for people to have more than 50 kgs of potatoes in one place. Yes, potatoes!! Police even have the right to stop and search people and vehicles if they suspect that they might be in possession of more than 50kgs of the vegetable.

5. No Reason for Ringing a Doorbell

In South Australia, if you don’t have a good excuse for ringing another home’s doorbell you could be slapped with a fine. A maximum of $250 can be taken if someone doesn’t have a ‘reasonable excuse’ for ringing a doorbell. The same extends to knocking on door.
